The City of Rensselaer Dispatch Center consists of six full time dispatchers. The dispatch center is the action center of the Police Department. It is manned 24/7. The dispatch team is trained in E911 Emergency Medical Dispatch Calls, NCIC (National Crime Information Center) and IDACS (Indiana Data & Communication Systems). They dispatch all 911 and local calls for the City of Rensselaer which includes the Rensselaer Volunteer Fire Department, Ambulance Service and Police. They are also the contact for the after hours utility emergencies.
