City of Rensselaer Clerk-Treasurer - Shelby E. Keys
The function of the Clerk-Treasurer, an elected official, is to serve as fiscal officer for the City of Rensselaer. The Clerk-Treasurer appoints deputies to serve in the capacity, as the Clerk-Treasurer.
There are currently three Deputy Clerk-Treasurers - Jessica Call and Chrissy Martin.
The Clerk-Treasurer's Office is responsible for receiving all monies collected by the Utility Department, Building Department, Police Department and the Cemetery Department, in addition to state and county tax distributions. The employees audit and prepare A/P vouchers for payment and disburse checks, once approved by City Council. Other responsibilities include:
