The Meter Department is comprised of Heath Malone - Lead Meter Foreman, Jim Hurd and Riley Cook - Electronic Foremen.
The Meter Department provides the service of reading all of the city's electric, gas and water meters every month and works with the Utility Office and other City Departments to ensure accurate billing. With a customer base of approximately 3,000, the meter readers are actually reading 9,000 meters a month since the City of Rensselaer owns its own Electric, Water, Sewage and Gas Utilities.
